For an Independent musician, there are a lot of steps to take to get your music heard. But for a singer/songwriter named David Parrish, it's one step at a time as he plans to walk from Spokane, WA. to Nashville, playing his music all along the way.

Parrish says that the 2,000 mile walk will give him an opportunity to let his music be heard by people he meets along the way, and will hopefully gain the attention he needs for the music industry to take notice.

You see, the walk is not just about the music.

Parrish says that he will be donating one dollar for every mile that he walks to the Wishing Star Foundation. Similar to the "Make-A-Wish" organization, Wishing Star grants wishes to children aged 3 to 21 who are terminally ill. Additionally, Parrish will be selling his CD titled Just The Way You Are, with a portion of the proceeds also going to Wishing Star.

David Parrish is a member of the Branson Independent Coalition of Musicians and Artists (Branson ICMA), and CDs can be ordered by clicking this link:

At 54 years old, Parrish says he expects the walk should take about 80 days to complete, and hopes the effort will be of major benefit to the children of Wishing Star, as well as his music career.
